If you hadn't noticed, there's a mini Asian Restaurant Row that's been blossoming on East 53rd Street, with restaurants of the Thai, Indian, Chinese and Japanese persuasion lining the block between 2nd and 3rd Avenues. That's where you'll find Lucky Cat, a ramen and Japanese snack restaurant that opened earlier this year. Just look for the giant papier mache cat waving from the window; you can't miss it. The ramen—particularly the namesake Lucky Cat and Nagoya—are excellent and a viable backup option for the interminable lines at nearby Hide-Chan, but it's an unlikely fusion dish that really catches the palate: Spicy Tuna Tacos.
