The airport has decided to treat you like an honored guest. Some of them are the usual suspects: a bookstore, two or three good restaurants, a cocktail lounge. The airport maps are transcribed on a plastic substance, so that visitors can touch some of them and see them change before their eyes - they can watch how the city grew over time. City that never wasThe exhibit also features visions of a San Francisco that never was, a city transformed by broad boulevards and grand monuments in the Burham plan of 1906, and a city crisscrossed by a network of freeways outlined in a 1948 highway map. A jazz duo was playing the other afternoon - music is offered in some of the terminals on Friday afternoons in summer.
