Two Osceola County men were arrested Monday night for passing forged bills at various businesses in the area.
Deputies said they received a call from a Publix on Blake Boulevard in Kissimmee, where a cashier refused the $20 bill and the manager was able to get a license plate number and description of their vehicle.
After receiving a call from a different Publix for a similar incident, police were able to locate the vehicle and conduct a routine stop. The two suspects were identified as Luis Angel Ramos and Lens Francois. Ramos told officers that he received the counterfeit money for a television set he sold earlier that day.
Officers found more counterfeit $20 bills in the car along with items from six other businesses where they believe the fake money was used. Most were fast food restaurants like Burger King, McDonald’s, Taco Bell and Kentucky Fried Chicken. All but one of the targeted businesses were located on West Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway or Vineland Road in Kissimmee.
